Nourishing the Mind, Body & Spirit: A Holistic Approach for Mental Health Awareness Week

This Mental Health Awareness Week, I invite you to take a moment whilst reading this to pause, breathe, and reflect on how you’re truly feeling—not just in your mind, but in your body and spirit too (close your eyes for a minute and have a go).


So often, we focus on mental health from just one angle. But through my work as a Reiki practitioner and nutrition therapist, I’ve witnessed the powerful connection between emotional wellbeing, physical nourishment, and energy balance. When one is out of sync, the others often follow. We all have a day where we’ve eaten rich indulgent food and felt lethargic, sluggish or dare I even say a bit lazy. I’ve been there, and still have those days. I am now however, aware of what I eat, how it makes and how it nourishes me energetically.


Reiki, a gentle energy healing technique, helps calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and rebalance emotional energy. Combined with mindful nutrition—eating foods that support your mood, gut health, and hormonal balance—it creates a strong foundation for resilience, clarity, and inner peace. Mental health isn't just in the mind. It's in the foods we eat, the energy we carry, and the space we create for ourselves to heal. If we can identify our own trigger emotions and own trigger foods, we bring awareness to the world that surrounds us.


This week is a powerful reminder that you deserve to feel supported in every way. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, burnout, or just feeling out of alignment, you’re not alone—and healing is possible.
